How long does it take to set up my hosting account and domain name?

Home » Knowledge Base » Pre-Sale Questions » How long does it take to set up my hosting account and domain name?

Creating a hosting account with AwardSpace is as easy as it gets. Typically the process is quick and takes just a few minutes. There are a few steps involved in the process of setting up a hosting account with us. Here they are:

Selecting and Activating a Hosting Plan

Naturally, the first step is to choose a hosting plan. If you go for a free web hosting account, the account activation is instant.  For a premium hosting plan, you will have to go through the order process. Unlike the free hosting registration, where you just need to add an email, in the process of ordering a premium plan, you will have to add some basic information. That includes name, email, and of course preferred payment method.

Once you go through the order form, we need to confirm the payment has been successful. This usually takes a few minutes. After that, your hosting account is registered and activated.

Domain Name Registration/Transfer:

New Domain Registration

If you’re registering a new domain through AwardSpace, the process is generally instant, though it might take up to 24 hours for the domain to propagate fully across the internet.

Domain Transfer

Transferring an existing domain to AwardSpace can take longer, typically between 5 to 7 days. This duration is due to the transfer process involving several steps, including approval from your current domain registrar. Bear in mind, that it is absolutely possible to migrate your website and transfer your domain to any hosting provider including AwardSpace, without downtime for your website. So, although the process of domain transfer takes up to 7 days, your website can be up and running the whole time.

AwardSpace’s support team is available to assist if you encounter any issues during the setup process.
