How to Create a Blog Post with Concrete5

The process involves a few steps. Follow these to quickly and easily create your first blog post with Concrete5.

 

Step 1: Log in to Concrete5

The first step in the process is to log in to Concrete5 Dasboard. Log in using your administrator credentials.

Once you log in to you website, navigate to the Dashboard, or simply add /index.php/dashboard/ at the end of your website’s domain name. For example:

https://www.concrete5website/index.php/dashboard/

 

Step 2: Install a Blog Add-on

In the Dashboard, go to the “Extend Concrete5” section.

Click on Add Functionality.

Browse or search for a blog add-on in the Concrete5 marketplace.

Install the add-on by following the on-screen instructions.

Step 3: Create a Blog Section

In the Dashboard, go to Pages & Themes.

Then, click on Page Types and create a new page type.

Then, create a page for your blog by going to Pages & Themes > Sitemap.

Add a new page to your site listing your blog posts.

 

Step 4: Add a New Blog Post

Navigate to the blog section you created in the previous step.

Click on the Add Page button from the toolbar.

Choose the blog post page type you created.

Then, fill in the title and content for your blog post.

Use the editor to add text, images, videos, and other media to the post.

You can use blocks to add different types of content. Concrete5’s block system is versatile and can help you easily drag and drop various content blocks onto your page.

An Example Workflow

Login -> Dashboard -> Extend Concrete5 -> Install Blog Add-on.

Dashboard -> Pages & Themes -> Page Types -> Create Blog Post Type.

Pages & Themes -> Sitemap -> Create Blog Section Page.

Blog Section Page -> Add Page -> Select Blog Post Type.

Edit Post -> Add Content Blocks -> Settings -> Add Metadata.

Publish Post.
