Can I host multiple websites on a single hosting plan?

Home » Knowledge Base » Pre-Sale Questions » Can I host multiple websites on a single hosting plan?

Yes, when using AwardSpace’s hosting services, you can host multiple websites on a single hosting account. What you need to bear in mind though is the difference between our plans, and which ones allow you to do so.

For instance, the free hosting plan will allow you to host multiple websites, but you will only have one database.  This means that although you can technically create four different websites, using one domain and three subdomains – they will all share a single database, which is rarely a good idea. You can create 4 static websites with our free hosting plan.

Although “static” website sounds like something uninteresting, “static” doesn’t mean unchanging. For example, think of a restaurant website. From time to time, you might need to change a sentence or two, but if the goal is to be present online, you can easily use this type of website.

A dynamic website is something like a blog. To have a dynamic website, you definitely need a separate database. Otherwise, mistakes might happen, and errors or other issues to appear. Therefore, if you are planning on having a blog, and another website (on a separate domain or subdomain) you definitely ought to consider getting a premium hosting service. Getting a premium hosting service will guarantee you the ability to install multiple CMS platforms on multiple domains.

The amount of domains and or websites you can create is still depending on the specific plan that you are using.

Free hosting plan

Currently, choosing the free hosting plan allows you to create up to 4 websites on one domain and 3 subdomains.

Premium Shared Hosting Plan

Using AwardSpace’s premium shared hosting solution, allows you to get from 2 to an unlimited number of domains. Two domains are the limit of the Basic Shared Hosting Plan. Going up to the Web Pro Plus will allow you to add up to 10 domains, and should you choose to use the Max Pack Plus plan, you will be allowed to add as many domain names, as you wish.

Bear in mind that the same limits exists on all the plans that are based on the shared hosting plan. That includes but is not limited to WordPress Hosting, Joomla Hosting, the Grav Hosting Solution, Moodle Web Hosting, VTiger Solution, etc.

Semi-Dedicated Hosting

The Semi-Dedicated Hosting Solution is a perfect solution to anyone who might want to get the power of a VPS cloud hosting but the ease of use of a shared hosting account. As a middle ground between those services, the Semi-Dedicated plan naturally starts the number of domains (and websites) allowed on the service, where the Shared hosting plan ends.

Meaning, with the Semi-Dedicated Hosting plan (each one of them) you can add as many domains as you wish.

What is more, with every plan, you get one free-for-life domain name.

VPS Cloud Hosting

The VPS Cloud Hosting, much like Semi-Dedicated Hosting does not have any limits on the number of domains that you can add to your cloud hosting account.

Conclusion

Depending on the plan you’ve chosen, you can create a different number of websites. Naturally, while choosing your hosting plan, you ought to bear in mind what your plans are. You can, of course, upgrade your plan once you outgrow the plan you’ve chosen.

Bear in mind that the number of domains and all the other resources are a subject to change. To find the latest information, you can either check each service’s page, as well as our Terms of Services. Also, the web hosting knowledge base has a Fair Use Policies section
