Requirements to register .UK domain
The limitations for registering a domain with the .uk extensions are a bit unique. In order to register a domain with the .uk extension you need to own the corresponding .co.uk/.org.uk/.me.uk domain:
- The .co.uk extension will always have the right to register the domain name with the .uk extension if the .co.uk domain was registered before the 28th of October 2013
- The org.uk extension would be able to register the .uk domain if the .co.uk domain is available for registration or if it is registered after the 28th October 2013, as long as the .org.uk was registered before 28th October
- The .me.uk extension can register a .uk domain if the .co.uk and .org.uk domains are available or were registered after the 28th October 2013, as long as the .me.uk was registered before 28th October 2013
